Welcome To AUTISM!

The diagnosis of your child is the end of your life as you knew it. You are not equipped yet. Know this…what you do RIGHT NOW WILL change the shape of your child’s life. Their happiness is in your hands.  If others scoff or misunderstand…spend limited time trying to inform them…then walk away! Don’t worry what others think! Autism Awareness is growing slowly BUT your results will speak for themselves.

There ARE great teaching and therapeutic mechanisms you can have in your home. Most are NOT expensive. I will be outlining many of the products that will help…and those that will not.

To start, don’t forget about YOU. Although the 24/7 routine of constant ‘therapy mode’ may be hard at first…the smiles on your child’s face and the fact that you made such a HUGE difference in his or her life will be a feeling you could never have known without the diagnosis before you. When your child is sleeping…don’t forget about your hair, skin, a favorite movie or even a favorite dish. Take care of yourself!

There are those who helped to guide me as I will attempt to guide those just beginning their journey’s. Watch Dr.Temple Grandin’s movie on HBO…or order it. TEMPLE GRANDIN. Doctor, published professor and Autistic. Her best book in my opinion and a GREAT place to start? Thinking In Pictures.

I urge you to still watch the movie! It gives tremendous hope and a remarkable look inside the thinking process of these amazing kiddos. She is Autistic. So are  Daryl Hannah, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Gates, Thomas Jefferson, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and many others. Collin Farrell’s son was recently diagnosed.

You now have an amazing child who can learn everything typical children can…he will just learn it differently.

Autism is curable in the sense that these kids can be functional and happy…just needing protection and some assistance. I have so much to tell you and products to help you.

YOU need a proper diet, sleep, correct information, someone to listen to and someone who will listen,  you will learn to embrace and enjoy your new life. A fax machine is critical since you will be home a LOT.  Everything in your world will run smoother if you can ‘operate’ out of your home. A home based business is a necessity.

Most people will misunderstand. Autism awareness is just starting to emerge…but it is a slow, frustrating process. The world will feel quite alone at times.  This is when you need to remind yourself, or each other if your relationship can stay strong, that have a loving, wonderful, innocent and adorable lifetime companion waiting to come out and play. I assure you, your child is in there! You just became more important than ever.

He is just hiding, but he can see YOU.

Take care of yourself and don’t lose focus…you are going to experience miracles!

Welcome to Autism.

  1. My precious litlte brother has downs syndrome and is turning 3 in a couple weeks. I am currently 15 years old and have been searching everywhere online for a way to offer an ipad to him! We found out when my mother was still pregnat and had battled through the terrible news. But, it wasnt terrible at all. In fact, it is the most amazing and inspiring thing that has probably ever happened to me and im sure the rest of my family would say the same. He brings light wherever he is and whenever he smiles. Any bad day turns into sunshine. I love him more than anything and we all new we would.. so why were we scared? Well having a child with downs syndrome comes with many challenges to the child in general. He is only 3 years old and has recently ended his physical therapy but is still, and probably will continue until he is wayyyy older to have a speech therapist. She was talking to me and my mom and my dad about cool apps for not only toddlers but children with special needs and she got him hooked on the litlte bubbles you could press that sneezed on her iphone. It is amazing how fast he picked up how to touch the bubbles and work out how to play it. I began researching and found stories of children with downs sydrome that have learned their colors and letters miraculously! Of course my family does not have the money as most family’s don’t to offer this educational echnology to my litlte brother. I would be so so greatful to have the oppurtunity to give my baby brother this oppurtunity of a lifetime. He has been through so much! When he was only 4 months old he stop breathing and almost died. At 1 years old he suffered through open heart surgery! I love him so much and would be overjoyed to watch him adavnce educationally through this awesome chance!
